How to Use the Stopwatch

Understanding the Stopwatch

  • The stopwatch measures time using independent hands separate from the central and 24-hour hands.
  • It can measure up to 60 minutes in seconds.
  • The watch records time in one-second increments, ignoring 1/10-second fractions.

Standard Measurement

To measure time using the stopwatch:

  1. Start the stopwatch – Press button A.
  2. Stop the stopwatch – Press button A again.
  3. Reset the stopwatch – Press button B (returns hands to “0” position).

💡 Example: Measuring a 100m race.


Accumulated Elapsed Time Measurement

For timing multiple intervals:

  1. Start the stopwatch – Press button A.
  2. Pause the stopwatch – Press button A again.
  3. Resume the stopwatch – Press button A.
  4. Stop the stopwatch – Press button A.
  5. Reset the stopwatch – Press button B.

💡 Example: Timing a basketball game.

🔄 You can restart and stop the stopwatch as many times as needed before resetting.


Split Time Measurement

To measure intermediate times without stopping the stopwatch:

  1. Start the stopwatch – Press button A.
  2. Record a split time – Press button B (stops only the display, the stopwatch keeps running).
  3. Release the split time – Press button B again.
  4. Stop the stopwatch – Press button A.
  5. Reset the stopwatch – Press button B.

💡 Example: Measuring lap times in a 5000m race.

🔄 Split time measurement can be repeated as many times as needed.


Adjusting the Stopwatch Hand Position

Before setting the time, ensure that the stopwatch second and minute hands are at the "0" (12 o’clock) position.

Resetting the Hands

  • If the stopwatch is counting: Press A → B.
  • If the stopwatch is stopped: Press B.
  • If a split time is displayed: Press B → A → B.

Manual Adjustment

If the hands are not in the correct position:

  1. Pull out the crown.
  2. Press button A or B to move the hands to the “0” position.
    • Button A: Moves hands counterclockwise.
    • Button B: Moves hands clockwise.
  3. Push the crown back to its normal position.
